Uptown Swingers Social Aid and Pleasure Club

The 2022/2023 Second Line Season grinds to a halt Sunday June 25th 2023. Uptown Swingers Social Aid and Pleasure Club begin their roll at 3:30pm and follow a traditionally byzantine route through New Orleans’ Uptown district.

Miriam Batiste Reed, legendary New Orleans Baby Doll and member of the sprawling Batiste family, recently passed away in her adopted home of Newport News, Virginia. She was 97 years old. This morning, Baby Doll troupes from across the city gathered to fete her in a celebratory second line.
